Nathan Hiltz is a guitarist in Toronto. He specializes in jazz guitar but also dabbles in classical, folk, and choral music too. His musical projects include Samways, The Griffith Hiltz Trio, The Koffman Hiltz Quartet, Robot Cops, Organic, and The Nathan Hiltz Trio.

As a sideman, Nathan has performed with many wonderful singers including Alex Pangman, Steven Taetz, Whitney Ross Barris, Ori Dagan, Jill Barber, Shannon Butcher, Jill Barber, Alana Bridgewater, Sophie Milman, Ranee Lee, Sheila Jordan, Billy Newton Davis, and Jessica Lalonde.

Nathan has also had the honour of working with groups like The Canadian Jazz Quartet, The Toronto Concert Orchestra, The Boss Brass, and The Toronto Symphony Orchestra.





Nathan Hiltz (B.Mus, M.Mus) has been teaching the guitar to students of all ages for over 20 years. He is currently teaching at Humber College and from his home studio in Toronto’s Wychwood neighborhood. He is passionate about the whole range of guitar study from introducing children to the joy of the instrument,  preparing young adults for auditions and performances, to giving feedback and collaborative guidance to experienced players.

  1. Private lessons are taught from Nathan’s home studio in the St. Clair and Bathurst area. Via Zoom / Skype / Outdoors in his backyard weather permitting socialy distanced.

  2. Lesson fee is $70/hr or $40/30 mins ($60/$35 when paid for one month in advance at the first lesson of each month)

  3. Lessons cancelled by the student with less than 24 hours notice must be paid for (except in the case of an emergency). The instructor has the option to reschedule.

  4. All styles and skill levels are welcome.
